Snapshot
Data Manager is included in all Service Collection Premium and Enterprise plans.
A snapshot is a point‑in‑time record of your data that can be used in the Comparison grid and Trendline charts.
Some sample uses of the snapshot feature:
If you have a Comparison grid that shows the number of Windows desktops in the environment, when a snapshot is taken it records the value in that field now, so that when data is re‑imported, the Comparison grid can show today versus yesterday, where yesterday is the snapshot record.
In a Trendline chart, the data points required each day are taken and snapshotted to enable the trends to show over time.
Snapshots are created when the Clease and Import client is run – they are not created when a merge is triggered using the merge functionality within Data Manager itself.
