Configuring Data Source Types
Data Manager is included in all Service Collection Premium and Enterprise plans.
This task requires Data Manager admin permissions.
A Data source type groups similar data sources (for example, SCCM, Asset, CMDB, People). Each type has a default refresh gap (Default gap) that new data sources of that type inherit.
You can create data source types automatically while creating a data source, or manually.
Add a Data source type
From the sidebar, select Assets.
In Data Manager, select Object classes.
Select the ellipses (…) button beside the Object classes heading.
From Data Manager settings, select Data source types.
Select + Add data source type
Provide the Data source type and the Default refresh gap (recommended 90 days)
Select Save.
Edit a Data source type
Data source types that are linked to a data source, should not be edited.
From the sidebar, select Assets.
In Data Manager, select Object classes.
Select the ellipses (…) button beside the Object classes heading.
From Data Manager settings, select Data source types.
Adjust the Data source type inline.
Delete a Data source type
Data source types that are linked to a data source, should not be edited.
Deleting a data source permanently removes it and any associated snapshot columns. This cannot be undone.
From the sidebar, select Assets.
In Data Manager, select Object classes.
Select the ellipses (…) button beside the Object classes heading.
From Data Manager settings, select Data source types.
Select the delete icon under Actions.
Confirm the Delete.
Deleting a data source also removes its column from any existing snapshots.
