Manage Assets usage and limits
Your Assets usage is measured by the number of objects you store. There are two kinds of limit on this page, and they work differently:
Your object allowance is commercial. It depends on your plan, and you can increase it.
The technical limits are fixed. They apply to every site and protect performance and reliability.
Before you increase capacity
Extra capacity is available on all paid Jira plans, all paid Jira Service Management plans, and Teamwork Collection sites. It is not available on free plans.
The steps are the same whichever of these products you administer.
Start by checking where you are against your allowance. See Tracking your usage in Assets for where to find your current object count and how you are notified as you approach your limit.

Your object allowance
Your object allowance is commercial: the number of objects included depends on your plan. For the full list of plans and the objects each one includes, see What’s in Assets for Cloud?
Included object allowances are granted based on the plan and edition of each site in your organisation. We combine those site allowances into one organisation-wide total, so usage is assessed across your sites together rather than separately for each site. Each site can contain up to 3 million objects. This site-level limit still applies even if your organisation has unused allowance elsewhere.
Enterprise is an exception: an Enterprise organisation can have many sites, but allowances do not accumulate across them. Enterprise provides an allowance per subscription rather than per site.
Usage-based charging is being introduced progressively, and eligible customers are notified before any charges apply. Where it applies, charging only covers objects above your included allowance. If you reach your included allowance or any extra capacity limit without enabling more, you won’t be able to create new objects until you free up space or add capacity.
Existing objects are unaffected. You can continue to view, edit, and report on everything already in Assets.
Enable extra usage
You have two options when you need more capacity than your plan includes:
Enable an extra usage pack. Capacity is added as you need it.
Buy an object pack. Capacity is purchased up front.
Availability of extra usage packs and object packs can depend on your account. You can see which options are available to you in Atlassian Administration.
Extra usage is enabled from Atlassian Administration, under Insights, then Platform usage. To get there from Assets, go to Assets, then Settings, then Assets settings, and open the App usage page, which links through to it.
The on-screen steps and screenshots will be added once the launch interface is confirmed.
Check the change
After you add capacity, your new limit is shown on the App usage page in Assets settings, alongside your current object count.
Pending confirmation: how quickly a capacity change takes effect will be added before publication.
Technical limits
Separately from your allowance, there are limits on how many objects, attributes, and attribute characters can be stored inside schemas within each individual Assets site. Exceeding these limits can cause performance and reliability issues, so a site can’t create further items once it reaches one of them. Buying more capacity doesn’t change these limits.
