Configure a Data Source Aggregate data source
Data Manager is included in all Service Collection Premium and Enterprise plans.
A Data Source Aggregate data source brings data into Data Manager from multiple existing data sources of the same type into a single data source.
All data sources included in a Data Source Aggregate must:
be of a similar type, and
have matching fields and attributes where data will be aggregated.
Add a Data Source Aggregate data source
From the app switcher, select Assets.
Select Data Manager in the sidebar.
Select Object classes.
Select the Show data sources button beside the desired object class
Select + Add.
Under General, select Data Source Aggregate.
Click Next.
Complete all required (
*) fields before clicking Configure your data source.
Configure a Data Source Aggregate data source
In the Data Source Aggregate Configuration screen:
Data source name – the name of the data source used to run, transform, map, cleanse, and import the data.
Enabled – leave this toggle enabled. Disabled jobs cannot be run.
Visible – enable this if the data source is to be visible in the Object classes view.
Short display name – a unique name as a data source label.
Data source type – select an existing data source type or create a new one. New data source types can’t be added inline.
Typically this is the tool name or discipline (for example,
SCCM,Intune,Asset,CMDB).
In the Data sources attribute:
Use the dropdown to select each data source to include.
Select + Add to add it to the list.
Repeat for each job you want to aggregate.
Best practice for aggregates
For each data source you add to aggregate:
Set Visible to Disabled to avoid creating individual data sources on the object class view screen.
Ensure all jobs share identical fields and attributes.
For the aggregate data source itself:
Set Visible to Enabled to create a single combined data source.
