Work with Rovo Dev in Jira

Pair up with Rovo Dev to transform your Jira work items into working code.

Start coding instantly in a secure, cloud-based coding session that’s based on your Jira work item details and any extra context you add. Set up your sandbox with secrets and environment variables so your tools work smoothly.

Then, work with Rovo Dev to build and refine your solution, reviewing and editing the generated code as you go. When you’re happy with the result, create a pull request directly from the sandbox to merge your changes.

To access Rovo Dev in Jira, you need:

• Approved access to the limited beta. Request beta access

• Rovo Dev in Jira enabled at both the organization level and the site level.
  
  

Generate code from a work item

When Rovo Dev in Jira is enabled on your site, a Rovo Dev section will appear in work items. To generate code based on the work item:

1. Select Generate code in the Rovo Dev section.

2. Enter additional context (like repository details, container settings, or specific instructions you want to give Rovo Dev) and select Generate code.

Rovo Dev will now start working and generate code based on the work item and any extra context you added.

Select the session to view the code (even while Rovo Dev is working).

Edit generated code

Open the Rovo Dev session to view the generated code.

Use the chat panel to ask Rovo Dev questions about the code, or ask Rovo Dev to make changes.

Highlight specific lines of code to let Rovo Dev know exactly which code you’re referencing in your chat message.

Once you’re happy with your code, raise a pull request:

1. In the chat panel, select Create pull request.

2. Add git information like a commit message and description.

3. [作成] を選択します。

If you include your Jira work item key in the commit message or pull request description, the pull request will be automatically linked to the work item.

You (as the person using Rovo Dev in Jira) will be listed as the pull request author and author of any commits.
