Use Microsoft Teams Communications with automation
You can connect your Microsoft Teams account with your project to automate the process of managing meetings and attendance.
To use these actions, you need to connect the Microsoft Teams Communications app to Atlassian Automation. For most of the automation actions, you'll get a connection setup message when you select them. Once the connection is established, you can automate actions based on Microsoft Teams events.
Before you begin
To manage project automations, you must have the appropriate project permissions:
Company-managed spaces: You'll need the Administer spaces and Browse spaces permissions for your space.
Team-managed spaces: You'll need Administrator access for your space.
To manage global automations, you'll need the Administer Jira permission.

Microsoft Teams Communications
Create Teams meeting
You can use this action to create a Microsoft Teams meeting and add it to the calendar.
Enter the following fields or select using smart values:
Meeting title: Enter a title for the meeting.
Start time: Enter the start time in UTC format. For example, 2026-06-02T10:00:00Z.
End time: Enter the end time in UTC format. For example, 2026-06-02T10:30:00Z.
Attendee emails: Enter email addresses separated by commas. For example, user1@domain.com, user2@domain.com. This field is optional.
Get Teams meeting details
You can use this action to get the details of a specific Teams meeting. Use it to review meeting metadata, organizer information, and join details.
Enter the following fields or select using smart values:
Meeting ID: Enter the unique Teams meeting ID.
Get Teams meeting all attendance reports
You can use this action to get a list of all attendance reports available for a specific Teams meeting. Use it after a meeting ends to find the report you want to inspect.

Meeting ID: Enter the unique Teams meeting ID.
Get Teams meeting attendance report
You can use this action to look up a single attendance report. Use it to see how many people joined and the exact start and end times of the meeting.
Enter the following fields or select using smart values:
Meeting ID: Enter the unique Teams meeting ID.
Attendance report ID: Enter the unique attendance report ID. You can get this from the "Get Teams meeting all attendance reports" action.
Get Teams meeting participants
You can use this action to get a detailed list of everyone who joined the meeting. Use it to review each participant's role and the exact duration they stayed.
Enter the following fields or select using smart values:
Meeting ID: Enter the unique Teams meeting ID.
Attendance report ID: Enter the unique attendance report ID. You can get this from the "Get Teams meeting all attendance reports" action.
