Fresh terminology for automation rules and components

An automation ‘rule’ is now a ‘flow', and a ‘component’ is now a 'step’. You may notice some inconsistencies in the documentation while we make this change. Read more about the updates in Automation

Organize your flows with labels

Labels are key words or tags that you can add to flows to categorize, identify, and bookmark your automation flows. For example, you could assign the label notifications to all notification-based flows. You can then view all flows with that label, or search based on the label.

You can use the same label across both global and space flows.

Label a flow

Any user with permission to edit an automation flow can add labels to it.

To add a new label:

  1. On the Automation page, click Add label.

  2. Enter a name for your label, and choose a color.

Once a label has been added, drag and drop a flow on the label to apply it.

Remove labels

When viewing flow labels, an x appears alongside each label. Click the x to remove the label.

Automation rules list, with the cursor hovered over a rule's label. A special "X" button with a "Remove" tooltip is visible.

Filtering flows

Once you’ve categorized your automation flows, you can select a label to specify which flows are displayed in the list.
