Validate attributes with regular expressions

You can use regular expressions to validate default Text, Email, and URL attributes in Assets. This can be useful for enforcing validation rules for information like IP addresses or domain names. You must be logged in as a Jira admin or have Object Schema Manager permissions to do so.

1. Go to Assets and select an object schema.

2. Select the relevant object type.

3. Select Attributes.

4. Select the gear icon next to the attribute, then Configure in the dropdown.

5. Under the Validation tab, enter the regular expression you want to use to validate the input.
