Search for objects and object types

Assets is included with Service Collection Paid plans (Standard, Premium, and Enterprise). What Assets is and how it works.

There are multiple ways to find the objects, object types, and schemas that live in Assets.

Search for objects, object types, and schemas

  1. From the app switcher, select Assets

  2. Select the search field at the top of the page.

  3. Enter the name of the object, object type, or schema you’re looking for.

If you are in another Atlassian app (not Assets)

  1. Select the search field at the top of the page.

  2. Enter the name of the object, object type, or schema you’re looking for.

  3. Select the app filter, then select Assets from the dropdown

Note: Search matches words exactly. It doesn’t correct spelling or suggest similar terms.


Search object schemas by label, key, ID, or other attributes

  1. From the app switcher, select Assets

  2. From your sidebar, select Schemas.

  3. At the top-right of your object schema, enter a label, key, or ID into the schema search bar, or select or search using the Search attributes sidebar to refine your search.

Search results are limited to 20 objects and 10 object types. To find more, search within a specific object schema. You’ll only see schemas you have permission to access.


Search objects by attribute values (Basic search)

Basic search allows you to search a single schema for objects matching attribute values.

  1. Go to the app switcher and select .

  2. From your sidebar, select Schemas.

  3. Select an object schema. 

  4. Select an object type.

  5. Select the Objects toggle if not already selected.

  6. Select the Filter dropdown.

  7. Select the Basic tab.

  8. Select the attribute you wish to search by.

  9. Enter a value, or select one or more from the dropdown.


Search objects with Assets Query Language (AQL)

Advanced AQL search allows you to search a single schema for objects matching a specific Assets Query Language (AQL) statement.

  1. Go to the app switcher and select .

  2. From your sidebar, select Schemas.

  3. Select an object schema. 

  4. Select an object type.

  5. Select Objects toggle if not already selected.

  6. Select the Filter drop down.

  7. Select the Advanced AQL tab.

  8. Enter your AQL query.

  9. Select Update filter.

    1. The results will be pre-filtered by the current object type.
