Use filters, advance sorting and autosave
Each view contains a variety of settings that allows you to filter, organize and safely play with your views. All these options can be found at the top of any view.
Group by
This option allows you to group ideas by fields within the list view. It’s useful to organize and declutter the view. You can also:
Hide empty groups in lists, boards and timeline by enabling the option in the grouping panel.
Roll up number fields in the list view to check impact and effort.
Filter
Filters help you control which ideas appear in your view by applying specific criteria to your data.
To work with filters:
In your Jira Product Discovery space, go to a view.
Select Filter.
Select + Add a filter, then choose and configure as many filters as you want to use.
With filters for date fields, you can control the visibility of ideas based on their timeline by selecting:
Fixed dates - Select exact dates when the project starts and ends.
Rolling dates - Filter ideas relative to the current date for a specific timeframe. This filter updates dynamically, moving ideas out of the view as they fall outside the selected period.
No dates - Find ideas that have no assigned dates, helping you identify unscheduled items.
More filtering - Select other options for project start or end without a specific date.
Advance sorting
Each idea order is shared across views meaning that if you rearrange the order of ideas manually, this change will reflect in all views. However, the advanced sorting options allow you to experiment with the order of ideas by keeping specific views with their own rank of ideas. Check out our advanced sorting demo.
Tip
You can quickly sort your ideas by selecting the field name and clicking the sorting option you want to apply.

Autosave
This feature enables you to lock and unlock the settings you’ve configured in a view. This feature is useful for teams that collaborate in the same view and want to play around with setting changes without affecting everyone’s view.
When Autosave isn’t enabled, the changes you made to a view previously are locked in, however, if you make new changes, they appear in color yellow and are temporary.
If you switch views, the changes in yellow are lost.
If you save for everyone, changes are applied and saved for good.
If you save the changes in a new view, the view you made the changes in remains unaltered.
When Autosave is enabled, changes you make to a view are saved permanently and you can’t revert to a previous selection.
Change the card layout
Change the amount of information that gets displayed in the idea cards. This option is available in the board and timeline view.
Search
Search ideas within the list view using the Find an idea in this view field.
