How billing works with Loom

Your Loom subscription is billed for the exact number of users currently using Loom. The subscription cost is recalculated automatically as you increase or decrease your quantity. Any new users added are billed on a prorated basis for the rest of the billing cycle, while reducing the number of users simply frees up a seat.

How are you billed?

When you purchase your first Loom subscription, you are billed for the number of users added to your subscription. When you add new users, if you exceed the number of billed users, the bill estimate will be automatically adjusted to reflect your actual usage.

For every new user added during the ongoing billing cycle, you’ll be charged a prorated cost for each user in your next invoice. When you remove users, they retain their access for the remainder of the billing cycle. Keep in mind that by removing users, you won’t be entitled to any refunds or credits.

To prevent extra charges for additional users, we recommend that you begin by removing users before adding new ones. To manage users, see Manage users and user tiers.

Billing examples

Example 1: You started a Loom Business subscription with 10 users at USD 18 per user. Your monthly payment is USD 180. Five days into your billing cycle, you add 3 new users.

In your next billing cycle, you’ll be charged USD 180, plus a prorated cost for the 3 additional users only for the remaining 25 days.

Your total bill for the next billing cycle will be:

Monthly cost based on 10 billed users: USD 150

Prorated cost for 3 new users: USD 54(USD 18x3)

Estimated total: USD 234

Example 2: You have a Loom Business subscription for 10 users and your monthly payment is USD 180. Your billing cycle is between April 1 and April 30. You remove two users on April 10, but your monthly billing cycle renews on April 30.

In your next billing cycle, you’ll be charged USD 144 (USD 18 per user x 8 users).

The two users will retain their access until April 30.
