Log in with a third-party account
Third-party login isn’t available for Atlassian Government apps.
You can log in to your Atlassian account with third-party accounts, including Google, Apple, Microsoft, and Slack. Logging in with a third-party account is a form of single sign-on using OAuth/OpenID Connect (OIDC), allowing you to log in without your email address and password. This is different from SAML-based single sign-on (SSO), which requires configuration from your organization's administrator to connect Atlassian with your identity provider. If you are unsure about your login method, contact your admin for clarification. You can log in with third-party accounts at id.atlassian.com/login.
If you want to log in with Microsoft and have an Azure tenant, note that an Azure Enterprise Application titled ‘Atlassian’ will be created to enable this login method. The ‘Atlassian’ app is used for the OIDC/OAuth authentication, whereas the ‘Atlassian Cloud’ app is used for the SAML SSO login.
If you can’t log in due to multiple Azure AD Enterprise Applications, ensure that the ‘Atlassian Cloud’ app is set up with SAML SSO configuration.
If you also encounter routing issues to the ‘Atlassian’ app, you can either set the assignment requirement to No or assign users to it.
If you log in with a third-party account and want to secure your account using two-step verification, we recommend you do this directly through the third-party provider.
You may not be able to log in with a third-party account if your admin has enforced SAML single sign-on, particularly if your organization is using multiple Azure Enterprise Applications. Ensure the correct application is configured for SAML SSO and user assignment. You won’t be able to log in with a third-party account if your admin has blocked third-party logins.
If you're an administrator managing user accounts or planning a domain migration (such as changing email domains for a company-wide update), make sure to claim and verify your domain in Atlassian Admininstration. Claimed domains allow for centralized management of company-wide changes.
