Use Loom's keyboard shortcuts

When recording, you can control your video with these handy keyboard shortcuts. 

Desktop app keyboard shortcuts 

You can change these defaults in the app’s Settings menu. Select the icon to remove the current shortcut, then select your own.

Mac desktop app defaults

• Record display: Option + Shift + 1

• Record Window:  Option + Shift + 2

• Record Custom Size: Option + Shift + 3

• Record Camera Only: Options + Shift + 4

• Record for Agent: Option + Shift + 5

• Start/Pause/Resume Recording: Control + Option + R 

• Capture Display: Option + Shift + 1 

• Capture Custom Size: Option + Shift + 4 

Windows desktop app defaults

• Start & stop recording: Control + Shift + L

• Pause & resume recording :  Alt + Shift + P

• Cancel recording: Alt + Shift + C

• Full-screen screenshot: Control + Shift + 1

• Custom size screenshot: Control + Shift + 2

• Quick restart: Control + Shift + R

• Draw: Control + Shift + D

• Confetti: Control + Alt + C

Chrome extension keyboard shortcuts 

Sometimes shortcuts won't work if another app is already using those same keys. If this happens, you can pick a different set of keys in your settings. To override or double-check what shortcuts you have set, visit this link, paste the following link into your chrome browser: chrome://extensions/shortcuts

Mac

• Activate the extension:  Option + Shift + L

• Pause & Resume Recording:   Option + Shift + P

• Cancel Recording:    Option + Shift + C

• Quick restart = Option + Shift + R

Windows

• Activate the extension:  Alt + Shift + L

• Pause & Resume Recording:   Alt + Shift + S

• Cancel Recording:   Alt + Shift + C

• Quick restart:  Alt+ Shift + R

While watching a Loom video, these shortcuts will control the playback:

• Jump Forward 6 Seconds:   Right Arrow or  L

• Jump Back 6 Seconds:   Left arrow or J

• Step Forward 1 Second:    .

• Play or Pause Playback:  K or Space Bar
