Access your Atlassian account with a passkey
Passkeys let you sign in to your Atlassian account without requiring a password or using two-factor authentication. Instead, you use a passkey that’s securely stored on your device, such as your phone, computer or a physical security key, such as a Yubikey. Passkeys use your device’s built-in security — like fingerprint, face recognition, or a device PIN — to confirm it’s really you.
Enable passkey authentication for your account
Passkey authentication is only available for non-managed accounts. If your account is managed by an organization, you will not see the option to enable passkeys.
To enable passkey authentication for your Atlassian account:
Log in to your Atlassian account at https://id.atlassian.com/manage-profile/security and, in the Passkeys section, select Create and manage passkeys.
Select Register key to register a new passkey.
Name the key, then select Register and choose where to save your passkey.
You can add multiple passkeys to your account. You will be able to authenticate with any of these passkeys.
Log in with a passkey
To log in with a passkey:
Go to id.atlassian.com/login.
Select Passkey.
Select a saved passkey for atlassian.com and follow the prompts.
Manage passkeys for your account
You can manage the passkeys you use to sign in to your Atlassian account. This includes renaming them, or deleting passkeys you no longer use.
Log in to your Atlassian account at https://id.atlassian.com/manage-profile/security and, in the Passkeys section, select Create and manage passkeys.
Select the passkey name to rename it, or select Delete to delete a passkey.
If you delete all registered passkeys, you will still be able to use your password or another available method to sign in.
