User Loom profiles moving to Atlassian

Important: If you no longer have access to the email address on your Loom account, you should update your email as soon as possible so that you don't disrupt your Loom service when your profile is migrated to Atlassian.

Having trouble logging into Loom after this profile integration?

  • If you only had a Loom account before, use your previous Loom email and password to log in.

  • If you already had an Atlassian account prior to integration, use your Atlassian credentials.

Still stuck? Reach out to our team here.

As you may know, Loom joined the Atlassian family in Fall 2023. Since then, we've been working to seamlessly integrate video communication across Atlassian's suite of products.

Now, we're making things official, starting with changing how our customers log in to Loom. In the upcoming weeks, users will notice that they will be using their same Loom login information to log into Atlassian systems

Login changes

  • When users click to log in to Loom, they will be re-directed to the Atlassian Loom login page.

  • Users can use their existing login credentials to access their Loom account

  • The login entry point will not change; users will be automatically redirected whenever they need to sign in

Profile management

  • Profile information (name, email, picture, etc.) will now be managed through Atlassian instead of Loom

  • In the Loom profile settings, users will see a "Manage on Atlassian" section with a button to view and edit your information on Atlassian

Existing video content

  • All existing content will remain safe and secure in existing Loom workspace

  • No videos or workspaces will be moved or lost during this process

Why is this happening?

This is the first step to bringing existing Loom accounts into the Atlassian systems.

The Loom team is hard at work to get these customers access to Atlassian's full suite of tools, including Loom integrations with Confluence and Jira. The Loomteam will be in touch with account admins about exact timing for their full workspace integration with Atlassian.

FAQ

How do I update my Loom account email address?

If you’re still using a legacy Loom login (managed on http://Loom.com):

You’ll need to change the email on your Loom account first, then continue logging in with that new email.
1. Follow the steps in this article to change your Loom account email.
2. Once your email change is verified, sign in to Loom with your new email address and password.

If your Loom profile is already integrated with Atlassian:
Your profile information (including email) is now managed through your Atlassian account. To change the email on your Atlassian profile:

  1. Go to Atlassian profile email settings.

  2. Enter your new email address and select Save change.

  3. Check the inbox of your new email for a verification message and complete the verification. After you verify the new email, use that updated email to log in to Atlassian and access Loom. If your Atlassian account is managed by your organization and you can’t change the email yourself, contact your company’s Atlassian admin so they can update it for you.

Will my saved login credentials still work?

Your experience depends on your current account setup:

  • If you have both Loom and Atlassian accounts with the same email: The system will default to your Atlassian password and credentials

  • If you only have a Loom account: You'll be moved over seamlessly with your existing credentials

What happens to my videos and workspaces?

Your content remains exactly where it is. If you have multiple Loom workspaces across Loom and Atlassian, you will be able to access all your content using the workspace switcher.

Can I still use my Loom password?

If you have both Loom and Atlassian accounts, the system will default to your Atlassian password.

What will happen to my profile picture?

We will default to the photo used on your Atlassian profile. If there is no photo on your Atlassian profile, then this will revert to your initials.

How will profile settings change?

The main difference you'll notice is a "Manage on Atlassian" section in your profile settings. This section will include a button that takes you to Atlassian where you can edit your name, email, and other profile information.

When will this migration happen?

About one week after the informational banner went live in your account.

What’s next

This identity migration is just the beginning. Stay tuned for updates about additional Atlassian integrations and features that will become available as we continue to bring Loom into the Atlassian ecosystem.
