Trim your video while recording

How to use Live Rewind

See how Loom’s Live Rewind lets you remove unwanted sections while recording, review playback, and resume, making editing faster and easier.

You can easily recover from mistakes while recording, using Live Rewind. While recording you can hit the Rewind button from the recording controls to trim out any mistakes they just made, and then resume recording.

Live Rewind is currently only accessible through the Chrome extension and only available on Business, Business + AI and Enterprise plans.

  1. Start your recording as normal.

  2. At any moment during your recording, you can preview or remove specific segments by selecting Rewind in the recording controls.

  3. A preview window will appear. Here, you can review the content you've captured up to this point. Within this preview, you have the flexibility to trim unwanted portions from the end of your recording.

    • Although these trimmed sections won't be visible in the final video, you'll still be able to revisit and modify these trims post-recording editing, if you wish to restore them.

  4. Once you've refined your recording as desired, Select Trim and Resume. This will transition you back to the countdown phase, so you can continue your recording.

Keep in mind:

  • Live Rewind allows you to trim exclusively from the end of your recording. You'll not be able to alter any segments from the beginning or middle of your video.

  • Although edited segments won't be visible in your final video rendition, they remain securely stored and accessible if you wish to further edit your video once completed.

  • You can simply review your video without initiating any trims, and effortlessly exit the Live Rewind modal by selecting the cancel option.
