Share your recording

When you're getting started with Loom, the easiest way to share your Loom recording is by using the Copy Link features.

You can share your video using these methods:

  • Share with workspace members

  • Share to a Space

  • Embed

  • Share with a message

  • Share your video at a specific time

Read on to learn about all these different methods.

Think of it as sharing the link of a news article or a YouTube video. You can paste the link anywhere and anyone can click the link to watch it. But don't worry, Loom is very secure.

You can select your link settings to grant access to anyone with the linkonly Workspace members/People in Company or specific people added

You can learn more about the Loom video privacy setting here. Select More options to manage your link settings.

Share with workspace members

Grant access to members in your workspace by adding their email addresses. They'll be required to log in to view the loom. You can select view or edit access if the user is a member of your Workspace and add a message. The email sent will include a thumbnail of your loom.

You can also use share videos with people outside your workspace as long as they belong to the same domain registered in your workspace. Note that only custom domains are supported.

To share a Loom video with someone who is not a member of your workspace or belongs to a different domain than the one associated with your workspace you'll need to connect your Loom account to Gmail. Here's what you need to know:

  • Your Loom workspace email must exactly match your Gmail account email.

  • Only Loom accounts registered with Gmail are supported for this feature. Accounts created with non-Gmail addresses cannot use Gmail integration.

Keep in mind the following limitations:
Some Google Workspace environments have security settings that block Gmail connections. Contact your Google Workspace admin if you encounter this issue.

  • Emails are sent using Google’s Gmail API, which may occasionally delay delivery. Check your Gmail “Sent” folder to confirm if the email has been sent.

  • If you disconnect Gmail from Loom, the connection is removed on Loom's side but not entirely from Google. To fully revoke access, visit your Google Workspace settings.

Don’t have a Gmail account? Follow the Copy link section at the top of this article and paste the link into your email application to share the link externally.

Share to a Space

Make videos discoverable to select groups or all members of your workspace by sharing them to Spaces. A shared video can appear in search results, profiles, and tag pages.

Share to Social

Under the Social tab you can share using LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, or Gmail.

Embed

Under the Embed tab, you can embed using a responsive or fixed size.

Privacy settings will still be enforced when embedding a  video. If your video is set as "workspace restricted" or "only added people can access" Loom will not be able to verify the viewer's identity so they will be presented with the following message:

Share your video with a message

Creators or Admins under a Business+ AI plan can use Auto Composer to generate a message tailored to the format and tone of Slack or Email for any Loom recorded with a transcript.

Share your video at a specific time

You have the option to share your video a specific timestamp. To do this, scrub to the timestamp you want to share your video at and then click the Share button. From there you should see an checkbox to Share out XX:XX , check that box off. Then copy the link and thats it.

Can I add an extra layer of security to my videos?

Yes, you have a few different options to ensure your video is private.
