Record with Loom for Android

Visit the Google Play Store to download Loom for Android.

What can you do with Loom for Android?

  • Record with Loom on the go, using Screen + Cam, Screen Only, Cam only, or Audio only mode.

  • Send videos in a flash. Share straight to Slack, Gmail, Messenger, SMS, and more.

  • Interact by adding comments and emoji reactions with ease.

  • Upload videos to Loom from your camera roll (For users on a Loom's Business, Business+ AI or Enterprise plans. This is not available for Business Trial or Starter-free users).

How to start a recording:

To prevent the recording menu from appearing in your final video, you'll need to adjust your Recording Preferences.

  1. Open your Loom app and then select the Loom icon at the bottom of your screen. From here, you can choose which capture mode you want to record: ScreenCam, or Audio mode.

    • You'll be prompted to grant permission to record audio and video, display over other apps, and screencast. You will need to grant them all before starting a recording.

  2. After a three-second countdown, your recording will begin. You’ll see a control menu where you can track the progress of your recording. You can move your control menu around on your screen by hovering and holding.

  3. Select the Cam off button if you want to turn on your camera to record in screen + cam mode. Tap Cam on to remove it.

  4. Hit the red stop button in the recording control bar to stop the recording. Once you're done recording, you can add a title to your video and choose how you want to share it.

Note the following limitations:

  • Android app does not support bluetooth microphones.

  • Android app can't record internal audio from apps connected to a phone or video call.

  • Only Android 10 and above will be able to capture internal audio while recording.
