Loom education discount and verification

Loom provides discounted access to premium plans for qualified educators and students at accredited institutions. While Loom no longer offers a completely free education plan, verified users can receive discounts of up to 75% for classroom or academic use.

Eligibility

To qualify for an education discount, you must meet the following criteria:

• Role: You must be a teacher, professor, or student.

• Affiliation: You must be affiliated with an accredited primary, secondary, or tertiary institution.

• Age: You must be at least 16 years old.

• Email: You must use your official school or university email address for your Loom account.

Application process

You must have an active Loom account linked to your institutional email address before applying for a discount.

1. Create a Loom account: If you do not have one, sign up for a free account using your school email.

2. Submit a request: Visit the Atlassian classroom license request form.

3. Complete the form: Provide the required details regarding your status as an educator or student and submit the request.

4. Verification review: Goodstack - a leading verification platform will review your application. You will receive an automated email confirming the review is in progress.

5. Receive results: Once the review is complete (typically within a few business days), you will receive an email with the outcome of your application.

Discounted features and benefits

Once verified, the following discounts and features are applied to your account:

• Discount rates: Verified users receive up to 50% off for general academic use or 75% off for specific classroom use on premium plans.

• Recording and editing: Access to unlimited recording length, high-definition (HD) recording, and full editing tools such as trimming, stitching, drawing tools, and overlays.

• Transcripts and AI: Access to video transcripts. AI-powered editing features are available if you choose the Business+AI plan.
