Improve color and visual quality in recordings
Resolve issues where the colors or brightness in your Loom recording don't match your screen or camera preview. These steps apply only to the Loom desktop app.
Step 1: Adjust Loom app settings
This only solves color and visual quality issues with the camera bubble.
Open the Loom desktop app.
Select Settings, then the Enhance tab.
Toggle off Touch up my appearance and Auto lighting.
Restart your computer and record a test video.
Step 2: Disable hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling (Windows only)
If you are using Windows and continue to see color issues, disabling hardware acceleration in your system settings can improve video processing.
Select Window Settings (or press Win + I).
Select System, then Display, then Graphics settings.
Toggle off Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling.
Restart your computer and record a test video.
Step 3: Toggle the fallback recorder (Windows only)
On Windows devices, switching the recording engine can resolve visual artifacts or brightness discrepancies.
To toggle the fallback recorder:
Open the Loom desktop app.
Select Settings, then Video & audio.
Locate Use fallback recorder.
If the setting is off, select it to turn it on.
If it is on, select it to turn it off.
Close and restart the Loom app, then record a test video.
Step 4: Uninstall, then reinstall the Loom desktop app
If settings adjustments don't resolve the issue, perform a full uninstall, then reinstall of the Loom desktop app.
