Add and edit a call-to-action button

Add a call-to-action (CTA) button to your video and increase engagement.

A CTA button will allow your viewer to be redirected to your document for more information, view your online store to make a purchase, make an appointment, view your website, etc. There are endless use cases for how you can use CTAs.

This feature is available to EducationBusiness, Business+ AI and Enterprise users only.

How to add and edit a CTA to your video:

Your CTA needs to include a web address (URL) and can't be a phone number or email address.

  1. Visit your video share page and select Add a Link under your Edit side panel.

  2. Add your Button Text and URL link. You can also edit the color, text, shape, and placement of your button.

  3. You can also choose to have your CTA displayed at the end of your video.

  4. Select Save

How to set a Default CTA

  1. Visit your video share page and select Add a Link under your Edit side panel.

  2. Then select Set default link.

  3. From here you can add your default CTA link and how you would like it displayed. All future videos going forward will automatically have the default link attached.

How Auto CTAs work

This feature is only available to users on the Business+ AI plan.

Loom will automatically grab the URL you initiated your recording on for your CTA (unless you have a Default CTA set). Here's how it works:

  1. Record a Loom.

  2. Select Edit the link from the edit tab in your video side panel.

  3. You should see the URL where you initiated your recording, has already been added! All you have to do is select Save.

Auto CTA is only supported on Chrome extension recordings. We hope to support Desktop app recording soon.

FAQ

If I embed my video, will the CTA button appear?

Yes! However, the placement of CTA buttons on embedded videos cannot be changed. CTAs for embedded videos will automatically be placed at the top right-hand side.

Can I choose a specific time at which my CTA button appears?

There is no way to set a specific time for a CTA button to appear. However, you can choose to have your CTA displayed at the end of your video. Otherwise, your CTA button will be displayed during the whole duration of your video.
