Capture console and network logs

Use Loom’s Bug Report mode to capture device information, console, and network logs to attach developer context to your Loom videos so your viewers can quickly reproduce and resolve issues without additional back-and-forth.

Bug report mode is available on the Loom Chrome extension.

Record in Bug Report mode

Available on Business+AI and Enterprise plans.

  1. Open Loom’s Chrome extension and select Bug Report from the dropdown next to Start recording.

  2. Select Record bug report. You’re now recording a Loom video, like any other, but the Loom recorder will also capture your device information, console logs, and network logs. Give voiceover to your bug report to add even more context.

  3. When you’ve finished recording, you’ll see Device, Console, and Network options in the Generate sidebar.

  4. Select a specific console log to move your video to that timestamp.

What’s included when Bug report mode is on?

  • Device information: Initial URL, timestamp, OS browser, window size, and location at recording start.

  • Console log: Captured console.log, warn, error, and relevant navigation messages for the active tab during recording.

  • Network logs: Captures request and response metadata to help diagnose failures and performance issues.

Share your bug report video

  1. By default, the content of your Generate tab will be set to Visible to viewers. This allows your viewers to see this information as they are watching your video.

  2. If you’d like to hide this information from viewers, you can change it to Only you can view.

  3. Select Copy link and share your bug report video.

  4. Your viewers will be able to create Jira work items or Linear issues from your bug report video.

Right now, bug report is only available on the Loom Chrome extension.

Can I still capture device information, console, and network data on a silent loom?

Yes! You can record a video in bug report mode with no audio and still share the log data - you just wont have a rich AI-generated description of the bug.
