Enable capacity planning in your plan
This page refers to the advanced planning features that are only available as part of Jira Software Cloud Premium and Enterprise.

In order to use capacity planning in your plan:
if planning scrum work, you need to create the sprints in your backlog.
If you plan using Kanban teams, your capacity is measured in increments each lasting one week. You can set the weekly capacity of a Kanban team in either days or hours, but the length of the iteration cannot be changed.
you need to use a board as your issue source. Learn how to edit issue sources.
your teams need to be associated to an issue source. Learn how to edit team and issue source associations.
at least one issue must be assigned to a sprint and team
sprints must be enabled in the project (for team-managed projects only). Learn how to enable sprints in team-managed projects.
you need to have the timeline bars visible on your plan. Learn how to show or hide your timeline bars.
To enable the sprint capacity view on your timeline:
Navigate the View settings menu and group your issues by Team or Sprint.
Select the checkbox next to Show capacity on timeline.
In order to manage capacity, your issues need to be estimated in either story points or hours/days.
