Get AI-powered migration recommendations
The Customizations page is in beta. Features may change as we improve them based on your feedback.
On the Customizations page, you can use AI to suggest how to move your customizations to cloud. For most customizations, you get a recommended migration path, a complexity rating, an explanation of what the customization does, and the steps to move it.
Recommendations are generated by AI and can be inaccurate or incomplete. Review each one before you act on it. Learn how Atlassian builds AI responsibly

You're an organization admin.
You've uploaded a support zip for the instance in the last 30 days. Older support zips are no longer available for analysis.
You don't need to turn on Rovo or other AI features for your organization.
How AI is used
When you generate recommendations, the Customizations page sends the customization report from your support zip to an AI model for analysis. The report includes configuration details, the source code of scripts and other customizations, and, if app decompilation was on when you ran the scan, the decompiled source code of your custom apps.
Apps from the Atlassian Marketplace and apps made by Atlassian aren't analyzed in detail. They get a standard recommendation instead: Marketplace apps point you to the cloud migration assistant for your product to check the vendor's migration path, and apps made by Atlassian are treated as available in cloud.
The first time you generate recommendations for an instance, you review what will be analyzed and give your consent. You won't be asked again for that instance.

Generate recommendations
To generate recommendations:

Select Insights, then Portfolio insights, then Customizations.
Select View customizations for an instance.
Select Generate recommendations.
The first time you generate recommendations for an instance, review what will be analyzed, then select Agree and generate.
We analyze all the customizations on the instance, and you can follow the progress at the top of the page. Depending on the number of customizations, this can take from a few minutes to several hours. You can leave the page, and the analysis continues in the background.
To stop the analysis, select More actions (…), then Stop generating recommendations. Anything found so far is discarded, and you can generate recommendations again at any time.
Understand the results
When the analysis finishes, the Insights panel shows a summary for the instance.

The summary under the metrics also tells you how many customizations didn't get a recommendation. Those are covered in Customizations without recommendations, later on this page.

No migration path | Either cloud doesn't support the customization, for example because it needs direct database or file system access, or there's nothing to migrate, for example a custom app with no user-facing function or stored data. The recommendation explains which applies. If cloud doesn't support it, check whether the business need behind it can be met differently. |
These paths are specific to the Customizations page. The migration paths in a cloud readiness assessment of your apps use different values. Assess Marketplace and custom apps
Complexity
Each customization with a recommendation also gets a complexity rating of Low, Medium, or High, which shows how much effort moving it is likely to take. Use it to find the customizations that need the most planning.
Recommendations for each customization
Select a customization in the table, then open the Recommendations tab in the side panel. You'll see:
Migration assessment: the recommended path and complexity
What it does: a plain-language explanation of the customization
What to do: the steps to move it to cloud
To see the full report, select View details. Full reports are available for customizations that were analyzed by AI.
To tell us whether a recommendation was useful, select Give feedback in the side panel or on the report page.
Customizations without recommendations
Recommendations aren't generated for some customization types. Review these yourself when you plan your migration:

Marketplace apps. These get a standard recommendation that points you to the cloud migration assistant instead.
Download the report
To download the recommendations for an instance as a PDF, select More actions (…), then Download report. This option is available once recommendations are ready. The PDF includes the customizations that have a recommendation.
Like the recommendations on the page, the report is generated by AI and can be inaccurate or incomplete. Review it before you share it or act on it.
Generate recommendations again
You might want to generate recommendations again when:
You uploaded a new support zip. Recommendations based on the previous data are no longer shown, and the page asks you to generate recommendations again.
Some recommendations failed. You'll see a message that the results are incomplete. Select Retry to complete them.
Troubleshoot recommendations

Results are incomplete, or some recommendations failed to generate | Select Retry in the Insights panel. |
No detailed report yet | Recommendations haven't been generated for this instance. Generate them first, then open the details page again. |
