Use skills in a chat
Skills let Rovo perform tasks in apps on your behalf. You can browse through skills in Rovo Chat, or invoke them using slash commands and some natural language prompts.
To learn more about what these are, see What are skills?
View and search for skills
To view and search through all available skills:
Open Rovo Chat.
Select the plus (
+) button to browse through a list of available skills.Select your chosen skill and then enter the rest of your prompt for Rovo.
Example: “
/explain-next-statusUpdate me on the status of all of my team’s work items.”
Invoke skills using slash commands
Slash commands let you intentionally choose a specific skill when you know exactly what you want Rovo to do.
To use slash commands to invoke a skill:
Open Rovo Chat.
Type a slash (
/) to see available skills.Type a skill name directly after the slash (
/)for example,
/get-data-insights.
Once the skill has been added, enter the rest of your prompt for Rovo.
Example: “
/get-data-insightsGenerate a chart showing how long it took me to transition my completed work items from ‘In Progress’ to ‘Done’.”
Rovo will run the chosen skill, pull in the right data (where permissions allow), and present a structured, opinionated output.
Invoke skills using natural language
Currently, this capability is only available for the following skills:
Create work items
Update work items
Write status update
By writing a natural language prompt, you can invoke certain skills without the need to explicitly call them with a slash command.
To invoke a skill with natural language:
Open Rovo Chat.
Describe an action you want Rovo to take, which relates to creating or updating a work item, or writing a status update.
Example: “Draft a status update for our team goal with highlights and risks”.
Rovo will interpret what you need and route your request to the appropriate skill when possible.
