Troubleshoot Rovo Dev code reviews

If something goes wrong during a code review, here are some common causes to check.

GitHub account not linked to Atlassian

If your GitHub account isn’t connected to Atlassian, Rovo Dev will leave a comment asking you to connect them. This once-only task should only take about a minute.

Pull request is too large

If your pull request has more than 10,000 lines of changes or is in a repository larger than 20GB, Rovo Dev may not leave any comments on the pull request (or it might comment that the pull request is too large).

Try reducing the size of your pull request by splitting it into multiple parts.

Switched from Rovo Dev Agent beta

If your team recently switched from the Rovo Dev Agents beta program, your workspace may not have a site set for Rovo Dev credits. To check your workspace’s Rovo Dev credit site:

In Bitbucket:

  1. In your Bitbucket workspace, select Settings () from the main navigation, then select Workspace settings.

  2. From the sidebar, select Rovo Dev.

  3. If you don’t have a site selected under Rovo Dev credits, select one and try to run a code review again.

In GitHub:

  1. From the app switcher, select Rovo Dev.

  2. From the sidebar, select Settings.

  3. Select Manage GitHub settings.

  4. Toggle code review on for your organization.

  5. Set a Jira site to use Rovo Dev credits for code reviews:

    1. To set your current site to be the site used for Rovo Dev credits, select Set billing to this site.

    2. To select a different site, switch to that site, repeat steps 1–4, then select Set billing to this site.

Rate limit

Rovo Dev can review 10 pull requests per minute in a workspace (depending on system resources).

Try waiting a few minutes between commits or triggering code reviews.

Rovo Dev credit limit

If you run out of Rovo Dev credits, you must wait for your usage to reset or ask your admin to increase your Rovo Dev credit limit.

How to check Rovo Dev credit usage

Billing or subscription issue

Check your Rovo Dev subscription status or contact your billing or org admin for help.

System errors

Try waiting a few minutes and trying your code review again. If the problem continues and you’ve checked all the possible causes on this page, ask a repository admin to turn code reviews off and on before trying again.
