Smart Links from across Atlassian and other apps
New to Smart Links?
Read more on how you can use Smart Links to collaborate across Confluence, Jira, Loom and non-Atlassian apps.
Smart Links allow teams to work together across Atlassian surfaces and support most major sources of work URLs.
For example:
In Atlassian Government apps, you can only create Smart Links from Jira and Confluence.
Apps that support Smart Links include:

Non-Atlassian apps: |

Some link types from apps may not be supported for Smart Link embed view.
Authentication for Smart Links
You must be logged in to non-Atlassian apps that require authentication before you can display the Smart Link in your page. You’ll only need to do this once, and that app’s links will work across all of Atlassian Cloud.
For links to non-Atlassian apps that requires access to view, readers need to be logged in for Smart Links to display in the correct view.
Why some URLs don’t convert into Smart Links
There are several reasons why some URL types from listed apps may not convert to Smart Links:
Unsupported URLs: The URL type might not be supported by Smart Link resolvers.
Environment mismatch: URLs from staging environments cannot be resolved for security reasons.
Access permissions: If the user does not have the necessary permissions to view the content of the link, it may not unfurl. This may also require the user to re-authenticate with the non-Atlassian app.
Admin permissions: Some applications, such as Microsoft Sharepoint or OneDrive, need global permissions set by the Microsoft admin.
Content restrictions: Some links may not unfurl if there are restrictions and the linked content is not publicly accessible.
Technical issues: There might be technical issues or bugs in the object resolver service that prevent certain links from unfurling.
User preferences: Users may have set their default link view to URL instead of Smart Links or block-listed certain domains.
When SharePoint links display error messages related to permissions, this can indicate that admin approval is required to connect Atlassian products with OneDrive. Follow Microsoft's guidelines for granting permissions. Alternatively, if you prefer not to connect your OneDrive account, you can display the link as a standard URL instead of a Smart Link.
