Manage your goal types and success measures

As an organization admin, you can configure your organization’s goal types from the Goals settings page within the app. By default, you will see the Objective goal type with the Key result success measure along with the standard Goal and Success measure type.

From this page, you can:

  • Create new types

  • Edit existing types

  • Enable or disable active types

Note: when disabling an active type, any existing goals will still have type but no new goals can be created using that type.

Create a new goal type

  1. From the Goal settings “Type” page, select Create type.

  2. Enter a name and description for your new goal type. The description will be used when selecting the type for a new goal.

  3. In the Success measure section, enter a name, the plural form of the name, and a short description for the success measure that will be used with this type.

    1. If you do not want to use a success measure for this type, you can select Remove success measure.

  4. If you want to create the goal type but not enable it yet, you can deselect the button under Enable this goal type.

  5. Select Save to create your new goal type.

Edit an existing goal type

Note: removing the success measure of an active goal type will not affect any existing goals, but new goals using this type will not be able to have success measures created.

  1. From the Goal settings “Type” page, find the goal type you want to edit and select the Edit button.

  2. Make any changes to the name, description, or any other fields you would like.

  3. Select Save at the bottom to finalize your changes.
