Add a chart

Charts allow you to quickly visualize work being completed across your teams. You can start from the beginning with a custom chart or use one of our chart templates to speed up your process.

Create a custom chart

To create a custom chart:

  1. Open the dashboard you want to edit then select Edit.

  2. Select Add chart.

  3. To build your own chart, select Create custom chart.

  4. Optional: Enter a chart title.

  5. Select a chart type. The rest of the chart options may vary depending on the selected chart type.

  6. Select a metric to track. Read about how metrics are calculated.

  7. Use Group by to break down the metric by time or discrete categories.

  8. Optional: Filter your chart to select specific values of the group you selected.

  9. Optional: Select Add segment to further break down each group by a secondary category.

    1. Use Segment by to select the secondary category.

    2. Optional: Filter your chart to select specific values of the segment you selected.

  10. Select Add chart.

Start with a chart template

To start from a chart template:

  1. Open the dashboard you want to edit then select Edit.

  2. Select Add chart.

  3. Select one of the chart templates.

  4. Optional: If you want to edit the template before adding the chart to your dashboard, select Customize chart.

    1. Optional: Edit the chart title.

    2. Optional: Select a different chart type, metric, group, or segment as needed.

  5. Select Add chart.
