View sync errors

There are a few errors that can occur when syncing with a connector. The Raas (Reporting as a Service) reports are the source of errors, usually because of invalid formatting, but there are other reasons an error might occur.

Some of these errors will occur in Atlassian administration and others can occur in Talent. Organization admins should leverage both places to get all error information to fix for a successful sync.

Before you begin

  • You must be an organization admin to:

    • see errors occurring in Atlassian admin

    • fix any errors

    • force sync to make updates

  • You must be an app and/or site admin to view errors in Talent admin settings

View errors

In Talent

  1. Select the Settings icon () in the top right corner to open Talent administration.

  2. Select Talent admin settings > Position and worker data. There is a warning banner that includes a link to see errors.

  3. Select See errors. A dialog opens which describe the errors and on which row in the Raas reports the error occurs.

  4. Download the txt file with the list of errors and share the file with your organization admin.

In Atlassian admin

  1. Go to http://admin.atlassian.com/.

  2. From the top menu, select Apps.

  3. Under Sites and products, select your site.

  4. From the side menu, select Connected apps.

  5. If there are errors, the Workday app is shown with an ‘action required’ status.

  6. Hover over ‘action required’ and select View errors. The table shows each error and a description for what needs to be fixed.

Fix errors and sync to try again

  1. Use the information shown in Talent and Atlassian admin to resolve the errors.

  2. Go back to the Workday connector in Atlassian admin (Connected apps > Workday).

  3. Select the Settings tab.

  4. Select Sync now to make the update that fixes the errors.
