Allocate positions to focus areas in bulk
App and site admins can allocate many positions at once from Talent administration. This is especially helpful during initial setup to do all your allocations for the positions in your organization at one time.
Download the provided sample focus area spreadsheet to reference the focus areas you have set up in Focus to allocate to, and then download the sample allocations spreadsheet to format your allocation information correctly.
Before you begin
You must be an app or site admin
You must have focus areas set up in Focus
Allocate positions in bulk
Select the Settings icon () in the top right corner to open Talent administration.
Select Talent admin settings > Position allocation.
Download the focus area sample spreadsheet to see all the focus areas you can allocate to. This is helpful to reference when doing your bulk allocations.
Download the sample allocations spreadsheet to see a list of your positions and the correct formatting for the spreadsheet. If the formatting is incorrect, you’ll encounter an error.
In the sample spreadsheet, enter the focus area and level you want each position to be allocated to. Currently, a position can only be allocated to a single focus area.
When all your information is entered, select Upload from the Position allocation page.
Select a file to download or drag and drop the spreadsheet you filled out into the dialog that opens.
Select Save.
If the upload is successful, the new allocation information is reflected across positions. If you make a new upload, the information is updated accordingly.
If you encounter an error, check the formatting of your spreadsheet according to the sample spreadsheet and try to upload again.
