New to Jira Work Management? Check out our guides for new administrators and users.
Each of your Jira Work Management projects has a calendar to help visualize and plan work. The calendar view allows your team to see when tasks are due and get a quick glance at what the next few weeks or months look like. All users who are assigned to the “Create issue permission” can create and edit issues in the project’s calendar.
View your project’s calendar anytime by selecting the Calendar tab on the left navigation.
Your calendar organizes and displays your project’s issue by the due date. This gives your team a quick view into the visibility into the urgency of tasks that exist in your project. Only tasks with due dates are shown in your calendar.
Sub-tasks are not visible in the calendar view.
You can create an issue directly from the calendar by following these steps:
Select the date the issue will be due on the calendar. This will automatically become the due date of the issue.
Fill out the issue details. Learn more.
Select Create and your issue will be created in your project and viewable from the calendar.
Color coding is important to visually organize and distinguish the different types of tasks in the calendar. Each of the issues in your calendar are color-coded based on their status, such as blue for IN PROGRESS or green for DONE. Learn more about workflows.
