Open the Jira app directly from external links

To go directly to the Jira mobile app via an external deep link in an email or message (rather than viewing Jira’s web version within a browser), you need to adjust the other application’s settings:

Slack

  1. Open Slack on your iPhone.

  2. Select You in the tab bar.

  3. Select Preferences.

  4. Select Advanced.

  5. Select Web browser.

  6. Select either Open in Chrome or Safari (thereby unselecting In-app browser).

Microsoft Teams

  1. Open Teams on your iPhone.

  2. Select your account avatar to go to your account settings.

  3. Select Settings.

Native email

  1. Open an email containing a Jira issue link in your iPhone’s native email application.

  2. Long-press the Jira link, and select Open in Jira.

The next time you open an issue on your iPhone, it will default to this selection.

Non-native email (e.g. Gmail, Outlook)

  1. Open an email containing a Jira issue link on your iPhone.

  2. Copy the link by long-pressing it.

  3. Paste it into a native iOS app, such as Notes.

  4. Long-press the pasted link, and select Open in Jira.

The next time you open an issue on your iPhone, it will default to this selection.
