View project updates in Jira Mobile

Tracking your team’s project updates via Jira Mobile allows you to view high-level project communications alongside the details of your work items.

Project updates will be visible on Jira Mobile as long as you follow or own at least one project and you have unread updates.

View your project updates

If you have unread project updates, a banner will appear under Quick access on the Home tab. The banner displays the number of new updates for all the projects you follow. Tap on the banner to open your project updates summary.

If you don’t have any updates to review, you won’t see a banner in Quick access. And once you’ve reviewed all your project updates, the banner will disappear.

What’s included in project updates?

The project summary provides an overview of the status of your projects. It shows how many of the projects you follow are:

  • On track

  • At risk

  • Off track

  • Cancelled

  • Completed

  • Not updated

Tap the arrow () or swipe left to view each project’s individual updates.

For every project that you follow, you’ll be able to do the following:

  • Review status changes: Check whether a project has been marked as “on track” or “off track”.

  • See critical updates: View significant changes, such as due date updates or critical blockers, and see who has posted the update.

  • Read the complete update: View the full description of the update, including emojis and markdown.

  • Post a reaction: Provide quick feedback and add emoji reactions.

  • View comments: View your team’s replies to an update, and react to comments to let people know you’ve acknowledged their changes.
