Connect to instances from your portfolio

Connect to your Data Center instances to add them to your portfolio. When you connect, we can:

• Improve discovery by scanning app links

Things you should know before you start:

• Make sure you've completed prerequisites

Connect to an instance and add it to your portfolio

The following steps will differ based on the Data Center version you’re using:

• For Jira Data Center 11.3 or later and Confluence 10.2 or later, use cloud connectors.

• For Jira Data Center 11.2 or earlier and Confluence 10.1 or earlier, use security keys.

Connect to Portfolio insights with cloud connectors

These steps are applicable for Jira Data Center 11.3 or later or Confluence 10.2 or later.

Create Portfolio Insights connector in cloud

To connect to a Data Center instance:

1. Go to Atlassian Administration. Select your organization if you have more than one.

2. Select Data management > Data sources > Connected sources. Find the organization connector that you created as a prerequisite, and then select Connect app.

3. On the Select an app to connect screen, select Portfolio insights.

4. On the Send connection request screen, select Agree and continue.

5. Now that you’ve configured the connection on the cloud side, select Go to Data Center to finish the connection. If you don’t have the Data Center admin permissions, ask the admin to continue the setup on the Data Center side.

Accept connection request in Data Center

1. On the Cloud connectors page in Data Center admin screen, select Review request.

2. On the Review connection request screen, select Accept.

Your Portfolio insights connector is now configured.

Connect to Portfolio insights with security key

These steps are applicable for Jira Data Center 11.2 or earlier or Confluence 10.1 or earlier.

To connect to a Data Center instance:

1. Go to Atlassian Administration. Select your organization if you have more than one.

2. Select Data management > Data sources > Connected sources.

3. On the Connected sources page, select Connect data source.

4. Enter the base URL of your Data Center instance and assign a unique name to the connection.

5. Copy the security key from your cloud site.

6. Select Copy and proceed. You’ll be redirected to your Data Center instance where you can paste the key.

7. Enter the security key in your Data Center instance to complete the connection.

8. Choose your data sharing level:

• Share instance metadata (recommended): Enables personalized insights and recommendations with full feature access.

• Share limited metadata: Provides basic system insights with limited capabilities

If you’re unable to paste the key right now

If you’re unable to access your Data Center instance at this moment, you can copy over the key later on:

1. Go to Administration > Applications > Linked cloud organizations.

2. Select Link cloud organization.

3. Enter your security key.

Detect instances from your portfolio

Upgrade to cloud connectors and keep Portfolio insights working

This section explains how to keep Portfolio Insights working after you upgrade from earlier versions to Jira 11.3 or later or Confluence 10.2 or later.

1. Upgrade Cloud Companion app to version 2.0.1 or higher when it’s available.

2. The security key that you used to connect to Portfolio Insights expires after 180 days. When your security key expires, do the following:

1. Rotate ogranization connector credentials

2. Accept the Portfolio Insights connector request in Data Center:

   1. In your Data Center instance, go to Administration, then Application links, then Cloud connectors, and then select Review request.

   2. On the Review connection request screen, select Accept.

Your Portfolio Insights connector continues working on the new versions using cloud connectors.

Connection Status

Manage connected instances

After connecting a Data Center instance, you can:

• View instance details

• Go to your instance directly from Portfolio insights

• View more detailed insights (cloud readiness and instance optimization)

• Reconnect and disconnect your instance

Manage Portfolio insights cloud connector

These steps are applicable for Jira Data Center 11.3 or later or Confluence 10.2 or later.

Rotate credentials

You can rotate Portfolio insights credentials when they expire or if there’s a chance that the credentials were exposed and are no longer safe.

To rotate Portfolio insights credentials:

1. クラウドの管理ハブで、[Data Management (データ管理)] > [データソース] > [接続済みソース] の順に移動します。

2. Find your organization connector and expand in.

3. Next to Portfolio insights connection, select More actions (), and then Rotate credentials.

4. Confirm your action by selecting Rotate credentials. Wait until the credential rotation takes place. The connector will change status to Connected.

Delete connector

You can delete and re-establish Portfolio insights connector as many times as you need. The connector should be in Connected status to be deleted.

To delete Portfolio insights connector from Data Center:

1. Go to your Data Center instance, go to Administration, find Application links, and then go to Cloud connectors.

2. Select More actions (), and then Delete connector.

3. Confirm your action by selecting Delete.

To delete Portfolio insights connector from cloud:

1. クラウドの管理ハブで、[Data Management (データ管理)] > [データソース] > [接続済みソース] の順に移動します。

2. Find your organization connector and expand in.

3. Next to Portfolio Insights connector select More actions (), and then Delete connector.

4. Confirm your action by selecting Delete.

The connector will disappear from both cloud and Data Center admin panels.
