Assess Marketplace and custom apps

As part of cloud readiness, you will need to assess Marketplace apps and custom apps to ensure your Data Center apps are compatible with your cloud instance. This assessment:

Provides information on the compatibility of apps for migrations and their availability on the cloud.
Helps you decide what apps you want to migrate to your cloud instance.

Start your Marketplace apps assessment

To begin assessing your Marketplace apps:

Go to Atlassian Administration on your cloud instance. Under Insights, select Portfolio Insights.
Select your specific DC instance you connected to, and then select View insights.
Under the Cloud readiness tab, you’ll see the Marketplace and custom apps section.
Select Start assessing within the Marketplace apps card.
You’ll be led to the Marketplace apps page, which contains a table of user-installed Marketplace apps for Jira and/or Confluence from your Data Center instance. Each Marketplace app will display the following information. You can select the hyperlinks to view more details.
- Cloud availability: Does the Marketplace app have a cloud version?
- Migration path: Is there a migration path to move the Marketplace app from Data Center to cloud?
Based on the information provided, select the apps you’d like to bring to cloud in the Needed in cloud column.

Understand the Marketplace apps page

To complete the Marketplace app assessment, you’ll need to mark the apps that you’d like to bring to your cloud instance. You can refer to the information on the page to help with your decision.

App information

The page lists all user-installed Marketplace apps for Jira and/or Confluence. This list does not include system apps that come pre-installed with your Atlassian apps.

Select each Marketplace app to see additional information about it.

Cloud availability (クラウド利用可否)

This section provides information on whether a Marketplace app has a cloud version.

はい	The Marketplace app has a cloud version. You can select the app to see details about its cloud version.
いいえ	The Marketplace app doesn’t have a cloud version. The app can’t be migrated to your cloud instance. You may need to find an alternative app on the cloud.

This section provides details on whether a migration path exists for the app data to be migrated to cloud.

自動	You can migrate this Marketplace app to cloud using an automated path that the Marketplace Partner (app vendor) has built with the Jira or Confluence migration assistant. The Automated status links out to the respective Marketplace Partner documentation for you to read about their available automated migration path. You can migrate the app data using Jira or Confluence Cloud Migration Assistants. Read about migrating apps
Install-only (インストール専用)	You’ll only need to install the Marketplace app in cloud, but don’t need to complete any additional steps. The app data is embedded with Jira or Confluence data and will be migrated together with it, rather than using separate migration paths.
手動	The Marketplace app has a cloud equivalent, but you’ll need to migrate the app data manually – typically using imports, exports, or other ways provided by the Marketplace partner. The Manual status links out to the Marketplace partner migration strategy or documentation.
アプリをアップグレード	The Marketplace app has an equivalent cloud app. However, the app in your Data Center instance is an older version and is not compatible with the Jira or Confluence migration assistant. To proceed, you need to update the Data Center version of the app. Once you update and refresh the results, the status should change to Automated.
Contact partner	The Marketplace app does not have an equivalent cloud app. The Contact partner label links out to the support section of the Marketplace Partner listing.
No path	The Marketplace app can’t be migrated to the cloud instance as it doesn’t have a set migration path from Data Center to cloud.
Unknown	Displayed when we were unable to assign any other status. This may be caused by problems with the data, missing information from vendors, or problems within Marketplace. We recommend contacting the Marketplace Partner in this case.

Needed in cloud

Use this section to mark if you’d need the Marketplace app in your cloud instance. Your selections will be available to view by our Support and Migration teams. This helps us assess the complexity of your migration. You’ll need to select one of the following options for all your Marketplace apps:

Once this assessment is complete, the status on the Marketplace app card will change to Assessment completed.

Assess custom apps

Select the custom apps card on your Cloud readiness report to see:

The number of custom apps in your Data Center instance.
Recommendations for your custom apps.

Portfolio insights doesn’t collect user-generated data regarding your custom apps. Read about security and data handling

Ensure that you review the recommendations and recreate the apps in the cloud instance, if necessary.
