Understanding team visibility
The explanation of team visibility below explained below is only applicable to organizations who are a part of the migration. If you are not a part of the migration, please read more about team visibility here.
Not sure if you’re included in this migration? Please see here.
How team visibility works before migration: organization-level visibility
Before the migration, all Teams in your organization have organization-level visibility.
All Teams within your organization are visible to everyone. This means that no matter which site a Team was created in, all members of your organization can view every team.
How team visibility works during migration: Mixed visibility
Mixed visibility is only applicable during the migration window.
During your 60 to 120-day migration window (see key migration dates), some Teams may be visible across your organization, while others are only visible within their site. This is a temporary state that only occurs during the migration period.
While this transition is in progress, there are a few limitations to be aware of:
Copying Teams data in Jira Cloud will not be available until your migration is complete.
Teams directory in Atlassian Administration will not be available until your migration is complete.
Once your migration is complete, these features will become available again, and all Teams will have site-level visibility.
How team visibility works after migration: Site-level visibility
After the migration, all Teams in your organization have site-level visibility.
Your teams are only visible in the site they were created in or assigned to.
