Create and manage statuses

Statuses show where a focus area is in its lifecycle. On the Statuses page, you can create statuses for your site and map each one to a status category, so reporting and rollups stay consistent no matter what you name things.

These statuses are separate from the Jira statuses you map for work items on a focus area's Work tab. Status is also separate from health, which shows how well a focus area is going.

Statuses and status categories

Each status maps to one of three fixed status categories: To do, In progress, or Done. Categories keep reporting and rollups consistent across your site, even when statuses have different names.

Focus comes with these default statuses for focus areas, which you can edit or remove:

名前

ステータス カテゴリ

説明

ペンディング

作業前

Focus area is not yet started

In progress

In progress

Focus area is in progress

paused

Focus area was started and is now paused

完了

ステータスを作成する

You can have up to 15 statuses, including archived ones.

To create a status:

  1. Select the Settings icon in the top right corner, then select Focus settings.

  2. From the left navigation, select Statuses.

  3. Select the Focus areas tab.

  4. [作成] を選択します。

  5. Enter a Name and Description, choose a Color, and select a Status category. Each status needs a unique name.

  6. Select Create status.

The new status is available on every focus area type that uses the Status field.

ステータスを編集する

You can rename a status, change its color or description, map it to a different status category, or change the order of your statuses.

ステータスを編集するには、次の手順を実行します。

  1. Select the Settings icon in the top right corner, then select Focus settings.

  2. From the left navigation, select Statuses.

  3. Select the Focus areas tab.

  4. Next to the status, select More actions (•••), then select Edit.

  5. Make your changes, then select Save changes.

To reorder statuses, drag a status to a new position in the list. The order on the Statuses page is the order people see when they select a status, and new focus areas are created with the first status in the list.

Archive or delete a status

Archive a status when you no longer want people to select it. Focus areas that already have the status keep it, but no one can select it after that. Delete a status to remove it from your site.

To archive or delete a status:

  1. Select the Settings icon in the top right corner, then select Focus settings.

  2. From the left navigation, select Statuses.

  3. Select the Focus areas tab.

  4. Next to the status, select More actions (•••), then select Archive or Delete.

  5. In the confirmation, select Archive or Delete.

You can only delete a status that no focus area or saved update draft uses. If the status is in use, Focus tells you how many focus areas and drafts use it, so you can change them first. After you delete a status, past updates that included it show Deleted value instead.

To restore an archived status:

  1. Select the Settings icon in the top right corner, then select Focus settings.

  2. From the left navigation, select Statuses.

  3. Select More actions (•••) at the top of the page, then select View archived statuses.

  4. Select the statuses you want, then select Restore selected.

Restored statuses go to the bottom of the list, so drag them back into place if you need to.
