How to identify storage size in Confluence Cloud using the Space Reports feature

Platform Notice: Cloud Only - This article only applies to Atlassian apps on the cloud platform.

Summary

As a Confluence admin, managing your spaces efficiently is crucial. With the new Space Reports feature, you can easily view all your site's spaces and key details, such as the storage each space uses. This guide will help you walk through how to access and use this feature to identify the storage size for spaces in Confluence cloud.

Solution

What is the Space Reports Feature?

Using the Space Reports feature, you can download a CSV file listing all spaces on your site. This CSV includes essential details such as:

  • Space Id

  • Space Key

  • Space Name

  • Space Type (global/personal)

  • Space Status (current/archived/deleted)

  • Creation Date

  • Creator Account Id

  • Creator Full Name

  • Public Link Permission (on/off)

  • Public Link Count

  • Anonymous Access Status (on/off)

  • Last Activity

  • Content Count (number of active content items)

  • Attachments (number of files)

  • Storage used (MB)

How to Use the Space Reports Feature?

  1. Navigate to Confluence Administration > Settings

  2. Select Space Reports from the navigation bar to access the Space Reports Page

  3. Select the Create Reports button located in the top right corner of the page

  4. Select Download to get your CSV file

Verify your report

After downloading the CSV, confirm the data looks correct:

  1. Open the CSV and check that the Storage used (MB) column contains values (not all zeros or blanks).

  2. Cross-reference the total against your site storage dashboard: go to admin.atlassian.com > select your site > Site settings > Storage and compare the Confluence storage total to the sum of your CSV's "Storage used (MB)" column.

  3. If the numbers differ significantly, the report may still be generating — wait a few minutes and download again. Small differences are normal due to timing.
