Generating insights for connected instances

After you connect to your Data Center instances, we’ll start collecting information about their entities so we can provide insights and recommendations.

Insight status

After you connect to a Data Center instance, we’ll start collecting data, and display the status.

Status

Description

Not started

The data collection hasn’t started, which usually means the connection isn’t complete.

In progress

The data collection is in progress. After the initial connection, this status will be displayed until the data is complete for both Instance optimization and Cloud readiness.

  • Instance optimization: The data is collected and automatically updated daily, shortly before 3AM UTC time.

  • Cloud readiness: The initial data collection takes up to a few hours.

When data collection is complete for both, the status will change to Up to date.

When data collection is complete for only one of them, the status will remain In progress, but you should see the View insights button that allows you to view the already completed results.

Up to date

The data and insights are up to date for both Instance optimization and Cloud readiness.

Has errors

There are problems with collecting the data, which usually means that you haven’t completed all prerequisites. See the following pages:

No data

The data has been deleted.

View generated insights and recommendations

Once the data has been collected, you can view insights and recommendations. Right now, we support:

  • Cloud readiness: Jira and Confluence (Data Center)

  • Optimization: Jira Data Center

To view insights and recommendations:

  1. In Portfolio insights, select the Apps tab.

  2. Select your Data Center instance.

  3. In the right-hand panel, select View insights.

You’ll be moved to instance details. For Jira, you can switch between Optimization and Cloud readiness tabs to view different types of data. For Confluence, you’ll only see the cloud readiness insights as it doesn’t include instance optimization yet.
