Confluence pages with unsupported nested bodied macros

This insight checks for nested bodied macro (NBM) combinations in your Confluence pages that may not work as expected after migration to Cloud.
Nested bodied macros are macros that contain other macros within their bodied section. Some combinations of these nested macros don't render properly in Cloud, which can lead to broken or unreadable content after migration.

How do unsupported NBMs affect migration?

When unsupported NBM combinations are migrated to Cloud:

  • Pages may fail to render correctly

  • Content within affected macros may be inaccessible

  • Content may need manual restructuring after migration

What's the recommendation?

When viewing this insight from the dashboard, you'll see:

  • Number of unsupported NBM combinations detected

  • Total number of pages affected

These numbers are based on currently known unsupported combinations. There may be additional combinations that require deeper assessment.

Before migrating to Cloud, you should identify pages with unsupported NBM combinations and plan for their remediation. We recommend the following approach:

  • Contact Atlassian Support

  • Plan for content restructuring
