Assistant version affecting migration time
This insight checks if you're using the recommended version of the Jira Cloud Migration Assistant.
How does the version affect migration time?
Earlier versions are lacking features. We release improvements across different areas on a regular basis, but in version 1.10.17, we’ve made significant improvements to migration speed. We’ve changed how projects and issues are exported, improving the mechanism that migrates them in parallel. After this version, we saw the median migration rate (checked on all migrations from the last 3 months) improve, as shown below:
Median rate before 1.10.17: 1,800,000 issues per 24 hours
Median rate after 1.10.17: 3,700,000 issues per 24 hours
Without upgrading, you won’t be able to achieve this rate, and your migration downtime will be longer than the median we’re showing here.
Which version to upgrade to?
We recommend that you always update to the latest, before every migration.
The minimum required to improve the migration downtime is 1.10.17.
