About work types
Work types help your team organize and manage different kinds of work.
A work type determines the workflow, available fields, and behaviors for each work item. Each work item in your project is assigned a work type, which controls how it moves through your processes and what information can be captured.
Default work types
Each project comes with a set of default work types designed to suit common needs:
Problem
Question
Suggestion
These defaults help you get started quickly, but you can customize them to fit your team’s way of working or create more.
New work types
You can create new work types to represent different types of work that your team handles.
For example, you might add a “Bug” work type for tracking bugs, or a “Feature” work type for product enhancements. Work types can be added or deleted by a project administrator to match your team’s requirements. Find out how to add, edit, or delete a work type.
About work type schemes
Work type schemes let you:
group work types
control which work types are available in each project
share the same group of work types across multiple projects
choose the default work type (and the order in which work types appear) when creating a work item
