Import existing Jira issues into Jira Product Discovery

You can easily map and import existing Jira issues into Product Discovery using two different methods: bulk move from Jira or using a CSV export/import. Before you begin to import data, you need to either export a CSV containing all data or bulk-move the issues to a Jira Product Discovery project.

Method 1: Use a CSV export/import

Export the data you want to transfer to a CSV file.

  1. In your Jira project, go to Filters > View all issues, and select the issues you want to export. Learn all about the available types of search.

  2. Once you have filtered your issue selection, configure the columns by clicking at the right-hand side of the issue list, and check the fields that you want to keep for the export.

  3. At the top of the screen, select Export issues > Export Excel CSV (all fields) if you want to export all issue fields, or choose Export Excel (current fields) to export only the fields you chose.

  4. Save the file

You can use the CSV as a template by leaving the headers and modifying the actual data before importing it.

Import the CSV file into Jira Product Discovery

  1. Go to Create located at the top navigation bar > Import issues.

  2. Choose the CSV file you want to use and click Next.

Now you need to follow the wizard. Once the import is completed, you’ll be able to see the list of ideas in your Product Delivery project.

Method 2: Bulk move from Jira

  1. To import ideas from an existing project go to Filters > View all issues.

  2. Find the issues you want to import. Learn all about the available types of search.

  3. At the top right, select () > Bulk change all issues.

Now you land in a wizard that will help you to move your issues into a Jira Product Discovery project.
