In Studio, you can build automation rules with the help of Rovo Chat or by configuring the trigger, conditions, and actions from scratch.

Create a rule with Rovo

To create an automation rule with Rovo:

  1. Describe what you want to build in the chat box using natural language.

  2. Select Submit (↑). Rovo will analyze your request and either send a draft or ask you clarifying questions.

For best results, tell Rovo what problem you’re solving, where the problem is, and your desired outcome.

Create a rule from scratch

To create a rule from scratch in Studio:

  1. In the Or start from scratch section, select Automation. The rule builder will appear.

  2. Add a trigger, then configure its details.

  3. Optionally, add conditions to your trigger. Edit it (if needed) and select Next to confirm the trigger.

  4. Add components to the rule (conditions, branches, or actions)

    1. Note: You must add an action to complete the rule.

  5. Optionally, you can edit the rule details to control how and where an automation rule runs, who it runs as, and how you’re notified if something goes wrong.

    1. Select the More actions menu. A dropdown will appear.

    2. Select Rule details.

    3. Change any of the following default functionality settings

      1. Name: Give your rule a name.

      2. Description: Add a description to your rule.

      3. Scope: Select which projects the v can run in.

      4. Owner: Determine who will receive the emails about the rule.

      5. Actor: The user the rule uses when it runs (example: Actor created the issue).

      6. Notify on error: Select how often the owner should be notified if the rule fails.

      7. Who can edit this rule: Select who can edit this rule

      8. You can also enable other rule actions to trigger this rule. Only enable this if you need this rule to execute in response to another rule.

  6. Select Save.
