Set up notifications for your team

Notifications keep your team informed about activity on work items in your project. They help your team stay up to date on progress, changes, and collaboration. Notifications are managed through notification schemes, which control who gets notified and when.

Types of notifications

Notifications can be sent for events including:

  • Work item created

  • Work item updated

  • Work item assigned

  • Work item resolved

  • Work item closed

  • Work item commented

  • Work item comment edited

Recipients can include the assignee, reporter, project lead, specific users or groups, project roles, watchers, or users in custom fields.

About notification schemes

A notification scheme is a set of rules that define which events trigger notifications and who receives them. You can use the same notification scheme for multiple projects, or create custom schemes for different needs.

Every project comes with a default notification scheme, which covers the most common events and recipients. You can edit this scheme or assign a different one to your project.
