Users can not view or access Teams in Atlassian Cloud site
Platform Notice: Cloud Only - This article only applies to Atlassian apps on the cloud platform.
Summary
When a user/admin tries to view teams inside a site, it shows up empty and the user can not browse or search for teams.
Environment
Jira Cloud.
Diagnosis
This issue affects the sites which are kept open. Meaning, that anyone on the internet can join and work with your projects or pages without admin approval. For some customers, we found that this may be caused by an unintentional misconfiguration.
Cause
If an admin intentionally makes the site open, people who join without admin approval will not be able to use Atlassian Teams.
For Plans (Advanced Roadmaps) users, there are additional limitations on teams use in place.
We disabled teams on open sites to prevent the potential security risks of leaking information about users and internal teams in the whole organization to anyone on the internet.
Note: If your Teams view appears empty on this site, this is expected while the site is open — Teams are intentionally disabled in this configuration. Your teams are not lost; they become accessible again once the site is no longer open to anyone on the internet without admin approval.
Solution
To resolve the issue, we recommend configuring your site settings so that it's not open to anyone on the internet without admin approval.
