Error while connecting Microsoft Teams to Service Project

Summary

As part of incident management tools in Jira Service Management, MS Teams can be connected to your service project. You need to be a site admin to connect a Jira Service Management site to a Microsoft tenant. But sometimes, you might get an error message while connecting it : Your Microsoft tenant is connected to a different Jira Service Management site

Cause

As mentioned in the error message, your organization has already added MS Teams to another Jira Serice Management site. Currently, Microsoft Teams can be connected to only one Jira site and we have below Feature Request to Improve this behavior:

JSDCLOUD-12598 - Ability to connect MS Teams tenant to more than one Jira site

Solution

You need to disconnect your Microsoft tenant from the other JSM site or connect a different Microsoft tenant. To identify the JSM instance that is connected to the Microsoft tenant, please follow the below steps:

  1. Open MS Teams > Click on Apps > add Atlassian ChatOps app from Team Marketplace

  2. Open the App Atlassian ChatOps > Enter any text (for eg. Hi) in the chat and press Enter.

  3. The Bot will send a message to the connected JSM site and you will get a response as below in the chat:
