Resolve Work Item Linking Problems in Jira Cloud Projects

Summary
Users are unable to link work items in one or more Jira projects, and the Linked Work Items field isn't visible on some projects.
Solution
There are multiple causes for this behavior. Depending on the way the problem appears, the solution may also differ.
No users are able to link work items across any projects
Enable the global setting to allow work item linking across Jira:
Select ⚙️Settings > Work items.
Navigate to Work item Linking.
A status message indicates whether issue linking is OFF or ON.
If OFF, select Activate to enable.
No users are able to link work items across certain projects
Add the Linked work item field to the View and Edit screens for the affected project(s). Please refer to our documentation: Add a field to a screen.
Ensure the Linked work item field is not hidden in your project's field configuration. Please refer to our documentation: Specify field behavior (hide or show a field).
Some users are unable to link work items across certain projects
Grant Link work items permission in the project permission scheme:
Navigate to your project.
Select Project settings > Permissions.
Select ⚙️Actions > Edit permissions.
Grant Link work items to the appropriate groups, project roles, or individuals.
