Details around Atlassian account lockout policy

Summary

This document provides insight into the lockout policy with Atlassian accounts, i.e, if Atlassian accounts are locked out after a set number of failed login events.

Solution

The system will keep presenting a captcha. It will also have "Too many attempts" counter which resets per minute (approximately 11 per minute)

Basically, a user will only be locked out if the system detects malicious activity. Login and credentials protection has various rules in place to protect the user credentials. If there is no indication of malicious activities, then the user account will not be locked out.
